No. In fact, the chance to clinch was lost on Thursday night. Atlanta beat the Jags, all our clinching scenarios depended on ATL losing this week.

We'll clinch it in 8 days.

Atlanta won Thursday, so a win next week against them will seal it.

No we must win one of the next 2 games to clinch the NFC South.

Falcons (MNF)
Panthers

Only way we lose the division is if we lose both games.

no, division record if we lose the next 2 and Atlanta wins out

If we win either one of the remaining games, we got it. If we finish with the same record, assuming Atlanta wins out, they split the series and I think it goes to the best division record, then to best conference record. Not sure where either team stands with that.

Someone can chime in about that.

Tiebreaking Procedures for Division

1. Head to Head Record
2. Division Record
3. Common Games
4. Conference Record

You asked this even though there was not a single thread celebrating us winning the division

How does that work with San Fran? Seems like they jump immediately to conference record for the tie breaker instead of common opponents.

ETA: We lost to St. Louis. nvm

it would come down to strength of victory, which Saints have

Not the BCS.

ETA: Or are you talking about point differential. Is that factored?

Right. Again, is that even factored? Cuz none of this gets "voted" on, despite our obsession with the weekly power rankings.
