Bass IMHO is our best on ball defender and is actually a good ball handler. The issue is he hasn't shown he can consistently shoot or finish well at the goal or make free throws. If teams are smart they slough way off him and play him to pass off drives and negate his abilities to drive and dish.

Some teams do still however give him some respect and when they do he can be effective driving and dishing.

He did hit a 3 pointer last game. The problem with staying off him is he will dribble right at you and into the lane. The thing is you have to keep him out of the lane so you can't give him too much room. Overall I think as long as we have shooters on the court we dont need a PG who can hit a ton of shots. I think his ability to find the open guy is what the offense needs.

I understand that thinking in theory, but in games when teams have sloughed off him...I can remember Bama doing it twice last year, C-Bass was very innefective.

I think when teams have played him honestely and tried to get up in him he's been much more effective.

I know, but we both know the numbers there. He hit a couple when we beat State in Starkeville last year too, but not so much before of after.

But Bass will give it his all and play with intentsity every minute. Too many kids on the team this year can't look in the mirror and say that.
