This is not true at all. You will still need to do routine maintenance/repairs like the work that will be done early next year but the structure will be fine for decades. The steel is the only thing you have to worry about and as far as I'm aware there are no issues with the reinforcing. Concrete continues to cure almost indefinitely, so it is constantly getting stronger.
