It needs to if LSU wants to ensure a more steady cash flow in the lean years. In the current environment, season ticket holders pay more to attend games than fans who buy seats in the same locations on StubHub, the coming BCS NCG excepted. If you want people to pay a premium for being season ticket holders in lean years, however, there has to be some expected reward that it will payoff in good years.

I agree with Doc Fenton. Maybe that makes too much sense for the powers that be to implement.

I can agree with this to an extent. But how should they do this? There are probably more people that have had season tickets since the 80s than the entire allotment of BCS tickets.

Frankly, I think people who don't donate much anymore should be thankful they've been able to keep their current seats. LSU could easily announce that they're wiping the slate clean, and all season ticket holders will have first shot at renewing their tickets, but they'll have to get their TAF ranking up to par with what it would take to get those tickets. I'm pretty sure Bama did something similar to this several years ago.
