Where can I go and catch some reds or specs? I am in the Lafayette area.
I have a 16' flat bottom. So please don't recomend 15 miles off shore.
Thanks for the info

Lake Decade in Houma is on fire and can be handled in your boat if there isn't much wind. Scroll back a few pages, they had 2 or 3 threads about it.

Cypremort point is closest to you, and when the Atchafalaya is down, you can catch specks and reds in the cove right by the State Park. Fishing is generally better in Calcasieu Lake, which is only an hour or so away from you, and if the wind isn't bad, a bateau is fine out there.

I wouldn't go out there with a 15' flat bottom, but I've seen it done

Well you shouldn't cross it in one, but I'd fish it if I had one.
