LSU vs USC would be one helluva game. Saying that USC could stand toe to toe with LSU isn't disrespectful. Thats a pretty damn good football team. Yes they got blew out by ASU, but ANYONE who paid attention to CFB knows that ASU was a damn good team to start the year before they were totally depleted by injuries.

Any team that could be blown by anyone this year could not stand toe to toe with LSU this year.

Nobody expected jack shite out of USC this season, and we had a great year. It started out iffy. We squeaked out a wins over Minnesota and Utah at home before playing like crap at ASU.
The team, which is very young, continued to improve throughout the season. The defense got a LOT better, and it was nearly enough to knock off two top 10 teams, but one would have to do.
We would be very fortunate to beat LSU because of a lack of depth. We can't rotate in and out the same quality of players that LSU can.
What I find funny is that some LSU fans fail to recognize that Los Angeles is a HUGE media market, while Baton Rouge is small potatoes. SC has built in advantages that LSU doesn't. The one thing LSU has going for it over USC is that the Trojans are crippled by sanctions and LSU is rolling.
Still, if we can keep recruiting the best talent (albeit not in the numbers we'd like) SC will remain relevant through the tribulations we're currently enduring.
