I think he regrets not taking the Maryland job last year. He has been passed over this year due to lack of HC experience and Ark State is a place he could be succesful and get that next job up the ladder. The only problem is they are only offering 500k which is double what Freeze was making but still less than half of the 1.3 million he is making at Auburn.

That would be the best way to look at it. One or two good years at Arky State and the jump to a UNC type job would be easier. He has seen several OC and DC's get passed over this year in addition to himself.
