Right. You've just destroyed the credibility of the AP Poll. Why should it be so credible now? What's changed?

The AP was part of the BCS equation in 2003. It is NOT now.

The AP went into who played in the BCS championship in 2003. When the AP didn't get who they wanted in, they pulled out of the system that they were a part of and declared their own champion. It was illegitimate.

Now, the AP is not part of the BCS system. They have their own poll. If they want to crown a different champion, they have the right to do so and it is legitimate for the AP.

The argument AGAINST USC in 2003 would not be the same argument against LSU in 2011. Completely different set of circumstances.
