There's a lot of craziness in the Bama football culture that not a lot of coaches want to inherit and deal with...namely the shadow and still love affair with Bear Bryant. Plus, there are far better places to live in this country and more fertile recruiting grounds.

You speak almost like Saban didn't like it in Baton Rouge. He's said in interviews that leaving LSU was possibly the biggest mistake he's ever made. If I'm not mistaken.

Better place to live? Subjective. What may be better for you, won't be better for me.

Better job in college football? Couple programs you could argue are on Bama's level, none at all you can argue are better.
