A. Ludwig only got a schollie to get Derenbecker to LSU.
B. Yes, Derenbecker didn't pan out but he was the best player coming out of the state a year ago (which is saying something). If they don't sign him then people are gonna bitch about "not signing the best in state talent."

Derenbecker was our 2nd best player last year. It's ashame he left us for whatever reason. Now, Ludwig, on the other hand belongs on a mid-major court.

i think that says more about our talent level last year than derenbecker.
I dont follow recruiting but la is in a sad sad sad state if derenbecker is the best player in the state.
Im not saying he is bad but he wasn't great, he could have been a really good player for us. I just dont buy him being the best player in the state

darenbecker was an above average player on a terrible team. I said a long time ago that if he was the prize of that class we would be in trouble
