re: Forget the Past -- LSU's Two QBs Have Damn Good Stats and Rankings

Both QB's have clearly improved. But both still make mistakes that harken fans back to the QB's recent HISTORY- which you can't ignore or rewrite.
Lee did throw off his back foot and create INT's (he still does, but the INT's haven't been as numerous). JJ still stares at one receiver and takes sacks (although he doesn't do it as much). So when these QB's repeat history, it scares fans and they retreat back to their old talking points- sometimes rightly so.

quote:Both QB's have looked mediocre in the last two games. Are they regressing again? This is the fear of the fans. Personally, I don't favor one over the other, I just wish Miles would decide a credible rotation if that's what he's going to do, and fans will accept it. Stop it with the mind games and the cute phraseology, just do it.
Fans desperate for a compromise tend to say that both QBs are mediocre.

Against Bama, Jefferson was 6 of 10 for 60 yards 0 TDs 0 Int. He was also LSU's second leading rusher in yards and yards per carry. More importantly, he ran the option pretty damn well.
Against WKU, Jefferson was 8 of 14 for 168 yards 1 TD 0 Int and a QB rating of 181.5.

just do it
Win? He is doing that.
Please the fans? The vast majority of the fans want to win more than anything else. He's winning.

It might be an opponent to opponent, trend to trend, play to play, down and distance decision.
As said in another thread, CLM is the coaching honey badger. He plays who he wants and don't give a frick.
