rotating SEC Championship Game

With the expansion having pushed the conference westward, Mizzou to the SEC East notwithstanding, isn't it about time we get the championship game played in New Orleans/ Houston every other year?

new conference map
Hard to argue that ATL is 'close enough' to most of the teams in the conference now.

I'd say a rotating game of Atlanta/Dallas/New Orleans would be fair.

No. Atlanta is more centrally located and the game is fine there, imo.
Texass will have a stroke if the SECCG is ever played in Texass.

ummm, ATL is a hell of a lot closer to "most teams" than Houston and even NOLA if you want to look at the entire conference and not just LSU.

I'm sure you like the game in Atlanta, but there is no denying this favors the Eastern teams. Every game I have attended featured a crowd that was at least 70-30 pro- eastern team.

Can we get a smaller picture their chief

....and the location has nothing to do with that?

By the time the contract worth atlanta expires there will be 16 teams, most likely with 2 new ones on east coast. They will never let three acc get a chance to be in atlanta. Not trio mention the game will never be in NO, no matter how much LSU wants it there. NO, is too much of a home field advantage, Atlanta isn't there are too, many supporters of all three schools there.

So Houston and NO make more sense location wise for the rest of the SEC? Hell you get the MNC in your own back yard what more do you want?

How about Atlanta every other year and the other year will switch to Dallas/New Orleans
So:
Year 1-Atlanta
Year 2-Dallas
Year 3-Atlanta
Year 4-New Orleans
So:
Year 1-Atlanta
Year 2-Dallas
Year 3-Atlanta
Year 4-New Orleans

Why? You never know who is playing in the game so logically you make it a central location in the conference and since there is nowhere in Alabama to play it Atlanta is the next best thing.

I'm sure UF and AU would be ecstatic about driving to Houston for the game.
Posted on 11/6/11 at 1:34 pm to DoUrden
It wouldn't be in Dallas. It would be in Arlington. Arlington is not a destination. If you really want the thing in Texas, put it in Houston. If the destination, and pissing off the Whorns, is the most important thing, then San Antonio. Hell no to Arlington.

Or you can rotate it between the East and the West that way it is always close to at least one opponent. Having it in Atlanta will always make it close to the east opponent.
Year 1-Atlanta
Year 2-Dallas
Year 3-Atlanta
Year 4-New Orleans
