LSU-Bama ticket confessional

My story involves completely turning in my man card as well.
I ordered and actually got 2 tickets to LSU-Bama via my season tickets - awesome!
For about a year, my daughter had been completely into the musical Wicked. Well, said musical actually was coming to Atlanta in September. My wife and I agreed that it would be awesome to take my 2 daughters to go see it. Well, it wasn't cheap.
You can connect the dots.
I effectively traded my 2 LSU-Bama tickets for 4 Wicked tickets. Part of me doesn't regret it because my girls (and all of us) had a great day. Part of me feels like a complete douche.

While I commend you on being a good Dad, I am curious how expensive are Wicked tickets? I just hope you get a "Get out of the doghouse card" with the wife for your sacrifice.

Usually I would say the game is just a freakin game and your family will not remember a stupid game. However, I have a feeling that you will always remember the time you gave up tickets to possibly one of the greatest football games played to go see a freakin musical. At least it will be the family joke when your kids get older.

They were like $120 a piece after Ticket Master was done with it.
The transaction went down in June or July, so the game was not "game of the century" material, but it was still LSU-Bama.

I told my 14yo last night that even though she might have heard me say several times over the last few days, "I can't believe I...," I'd still do it again. She laughed, understands, and appreciates it.
Still, damn!

life is full of choices. you made the one you thought was right (and probably was). time with the fam is precious. now (for the real purpose of the fatherly lecture), make sure that soem decisions go your way. women have a habit of wanting everyting to go their way all the time.

Wow, you get the medal as far as I'm concerned for best dad. Interestingly enough, my daughters went to it as well. You da man! (I think?)

I've been married 18 years and with the woman for 23. It's all good. She's a big LSU fan too, so this was one of her tickets as much as mine.
It was actually my idea - checked out what they were going for on eBay. Of course now they're going for twice that, but if I'd had them still once the football season started, I would've gone.

Taking your wife to a musical is supposed to lead to BJs.

When I see you next time, I may not talk to you.
Though you likely did the right thing for your girls.
Think your BIL would do that?

While a great sacrifice, it was the obvious choice. Maybe you can use your "best dad ever" status all the way to the BCSNC....

I told my son as we were headed to his school for another Saturday game which forced me to miss another LSU day game this season." there are only two reasons I will miss a Tiger game and that's him and his sister." Even his mom knows not to plan anything in the fall. He just smiled. Good father moment for me.
You did the right thing. Family should always come first.

Game is on tv, wicked was not. While it will hopefully be a great game, they'll probably remember that forever and will appreciate later what you gave up.
