I hope so but we won't know until the end of the season.

He didn't play a single snap this season so it is certain that he will get a med red-shirt.

No it is not certain. There are other criteria to meet besides just not playing the season.

Hopefully NCAA can grant him the medical red-shirt for a 6th yr like they did Kirston Pittman, Charles Alexander, and Daniel Graff. I believe Richard Murphy was the only player that was denied a 6th year of eligibility in recent times. I think it was because he set foot on the field and took snaps in 4 seasons therefore ruling him ineligible for consideration for a 6th.

Situations like these is why the coaching staff deciding to burn red-shirts on freshman that are ready to play isn't really a big deal. May need that red-shirt later due to misfortune.

I'm sure there will be occasions in the future that will have a player getting seriously hurt during or prior to his 4th season.

I have to admit that I am a "little" excited at the thought of our future O-Line. Between say La'el Collins and Derek Edinburg at tackle, someone like Corey White, Elliot Porter or Trai Turner at center and then Vadal Alexander and perhaps Patrick Miller at the guard spots, well, who wouldn't want to be a running back behind that line?

Unless he had a season ending injury his previous years at LSU, then he won't get a medical redshirt. You have to have two early season injuries with almost no PT to get a 6th year of eligibility. I don't recall him ever getting hurt, even in his RS year. He is probably gone.

Yes, I would think Mickey Johnson might be a stronger candidate than most of us realize. He arrived late this season, probably to redshirt. After he was recruited last year, a few posters speculated that he had the build & ability to play center in the SEC.

While we are on this subject, is Ferguson is the future long-snapper on special teams, or is there a chance he may get a look somewhere else on the OL--he seems undersized.
