TIMES-PICAYUNE METRO FOOTBALL RANKINGS

LARGE SCHOOLS
1. St. Paul’s (8-0) State’s top-ranked Class 5A team two wins away from second straight 10-0.
2. Jesuit (8-0) No one is questioning the Blue Jays or their schedule following Brother Martin romp.
3. Rummel (7-0) Are Raiders next to fall on Jesuit’s hit parade? History says no.
4. East St. John (6-2) Wildcats have won five straight, but must beat Higgins to secure 8-5A title.
5. West Jefferson (6-2) Buccaneers go for their first seven-win regular season under Marcus Scott.
6. St. Augustine (5-3) Big Purple, East Jefferson decide District 9-4A championship tonight.
7. Karr (5-3) Lucky 7? Cougars hold both places in state Class 4A, Metro rankings.
8. Mandeville (7-1) Skippers sail into Metro rankings, play host to surprising Fontainebleau.
9. Higgins (5-2) Fourth-quarter meltdown at Hahnville no help for ’Canes trip to East St. John.
10. McDonogh 35 (5-3) Not so lucky No. 10? Roneagles, No. 8 in Class 4A, face Karr at Behrman.

SMALL SCHOOLS
1. Curtis (7-0) Patriots seek 500th career victory for Coach J.T. Curtis versus Clark Prep.
2. St. Charles (8-0) Comets virtually clinch District 7-3A championship vs. Brusly.
3. Riverside (6-2) Newman’s loss to Cohen should be wake-up call for Uptown-bound Rebels.
4. St. Martin’s (7-0) Saints one week away from District 10-1A Super Bowl vs. Country Day.
5. McMain (5-3) Mustangs need one more win to clinch 10-3A title, automatic playoff qualifier.
6. Pope John Paul II (6-2) Jaguars play St. Thomas Aquinas for District 8-2A championship.
7. West St. John (6-2) Rams play host to St. John’s to decide District 9-1A championship.
8. Country Day (5-2) Cajuns must dispatch Ridgewood before setting their sights on St. Martin’s.
9. De La Salle (4-4) Cavaliers draw a bye before saying bye bye to Reed in Week 10.
10. Carver (4-4) Defensive shortcomings continue to plague roller-coaster Rams.

I don't understand the following:

I think the last time Jesuit was undefeated late in the season was 2004, and the Blue Jays beat Rummel 22-10.

Can someone explain the "history" referenced above? TIA
