3 Components: Coach's poll, Harris poll, and Computer average.
For the people polls, they take the highest possible score (that is every voter voting a single team #1) and then represents each team as a percentage of that max value. This is how it factors in how close (or how far) a team is ranked from one another. It is NOT a uniform spacing based on rank.
The Computer component is made up of six computer polls, that looks at things such as SOS (but NOT margin of victory, simply wins and against whom...blow outs against quality competition is not reflected).
The highest and the lowest scores are thrown out, and the remaining 4 computer scores are added up (with a #1 rank being worth 25 points) and then divided by 100, resulting in a percentage similar to what was obtained from the people polls.
The percentages from the people's poll, and the percentage from the computer polls, are all averaged together and the resulting percentage is what determines BCS rank.

Okay. There are three components to the BCS standings. Coaches Poll, Harris Poll and the BCS computers.
COMPUTER RANKINGS
There are six BCS computer Polls. Anderson Poll, Massey Ratings, Wollf Rankings, Sagarin Rankings, Billingsly Rankings, Colley Matrix Rankings. Each computer has a formula based on SOS and other components of the football game to rank teams. For the computer rankings, the teams' lowest and highest rankings will be taken out and not counted. The remaining 4 rankings will be added up and you would get an average score. The way most places score the rankings is 1st place=25 points 25th place=1 points. Add up the 4 computer scores to get the total computer score and divide that by 4 since there are 4 computer scores that you added up. Divide the average computer score by 25 to get the average computer score.
HARRIS POLL
Harris Poll is made up of 115 Voters, so the maximum points a team can get is 2875. Basically to get the BCS percentage, you divide the points scored in the Harris poll by 2875. Harris Poll is made to represent the public opinon.
COACHES POLL
Coaches poll is made up of 69 voters. The maximum a team can get is 1475 points. Like the Harris poll divide the total amount of points scored for the week by 1475 to get the BCS percentage.
TOTAL BCS PERCENTAGE?
(((BCS COMP1+BCS COMP2+BCS COMP3+ BCS COMP4)/4)/25)+(Harris Poll Score/2875)+(Coaches Poll Score/1475)=(TOTAL BCS Percentage/3 Polls)=BCS Average.

I would have better luck taking a doctorate level micromega esophagogastroduodenoscopy physics class at MIT than trying to figure the BCS formula out.

It's really useless trying to figure out the BCS computers' formulas. It's really weird, since one poll has LSU's SOS at 20, while another has them at 56 (Boise has a harder schedule than we do according to that poll). I guess even SOS is somewhat skewed? I would make my own formula if I could get paid for it and I could make it so it would really hurt teams like Boise. lol.

Beat Auburn + Alabama + Ole Miss + Arkansan + Georgia/South Carolina + Oklahoma/Wisconsin = BCS #1
That's pretty much the formula in a nutshell. Sorry I didn't show my work.
