Now Choctaw, you know this is completely different. Your everyday student on academic scholarship does not represent the University in the national media everyday.
Actually there is a code of conduct that academic scholarships have, violate it and they lose their scholarship. Just like athletes....sorry to burst your indignation bubble.
The individual signs the agreement agreeing to abide by the rules set forth, and in exchange they are given a scholarship. You violate, you lose.

And how many of those are subjected to random drug tests by the university? Absolutely zero. How many of them are on TV week in and week out? Zero. I worked in the academic side of the athletic department for almost 6 years and know what is expected of these student athletes. They ALL know they could be tested at any given time. As for the "rumor" that it was a drug test, I will say with 99% accuracy that is what happened. And according to the rules in place, the only time they would be facing suspension is after a second failure. I'm thinking you should learn your lesson after the first one, but that's just me. I just can't believe the people that are ok with what they did. You may not agree with drugs being illegal, but they are, so abide by the fricking laws and rules in place. I hope they come back and have outstanding careers the rest of the way, but for now, I'm absolutely fine with them sitting.
