1) takes away practice reps from the primary offense

2) breaks the rhythm of the starting QB

3) takes rushing attempts away from running backs that are much more talented running the ball than JJ

4) takes away passing attempts from the starting QB who has proven to be a much more effective thrower

5) takes away potential reps from the backup QB that will be the starter next season

6) running JJ in to trigger the "wildcat" actually prevents us from using a "wildcat" approach...wildcat is run with a player that breaks the huddle from a different position and then moves in to take the snap...preventing the defense from adjusting

I am getting tired of typing...

The day I see Tom Brady and Peyton Manning come out of the game for a "running QB" by the goal line I'll start listening to your argument.

Jarrett Lee is not Brady or Manning, but the point is that a running qb ain't everything. How can you say we can't beat Bama running this offense? We beat them last year with a total crap offense.

So, your okay with throwing 5-6 snaps away? You're okay with giving away 2-3 possessions a game, just to give JJ some snaps? Because that's what you'll be doing. If CLM wants to run the wildcat, he needs to run it with RS or Ware. They can actually run the ball. The option? WTF good is the option if every time JJ steps on the field, the other team knows it.

No... you explain the positives of inserting JJ and another style of play in an offense that is working better thanit has in years as we enter SEC play and when JJ hasn't practiced since the games began.

Yeah, lets wait and see how effective it is before deciding if it's a negative or positive.

You want a negative? How bout the fact he doesn't even know how to run an option?

There are better options at QB for the wildcat, better runners and almost as good throwers......and the offense is better in the redzone this year compared to last

We aren't going to beat a team like Alabama running the ball 35 times between the tackles. It'll be good to have a variety of looks to throw at them.

JJ ISN'T TAKING OVER AS STARTER. HE ISN'T GOING TO GET 50% OF THE SNAPS.

I wouldn't be against it.

Exactly.

We're going to need something else. Maybe that's Lee playing a great game and leading us to victory with his passing. Maybe that's the defense forcing a lot of turnovers. Maybe, just maybe, Jefferson coming in and giving Alabama a different look could help the team. If it doesn't, then it's not like we're going to continuously run it anyway. But if it does, then that could open up the offense even more.

Ware would be the best wildcat option, not JJ.

This is not a good idea bc JJ is not any real threat to outrun anyone.

In the same 3 games in 2010 (UNC,MSST,WV)
JJ and his duel threat averaged 161 yards rushing per game with no real threat to pass.

In the 1st 3 real games in 2011 (UO,MSST,WV)
LSU under Lee has averaged 175 yards per game along with passing for as many yards with 6 TDs and 1 INT......cant say the same for JJ

IF JJ plays the wildcat, or steals snaps from Lee, teams would load the box with 8-9 people bc he shows no passing threat. Which would take away from Ware and Ford's yards per game. PLus it would hurt all wrs bc LSU would only total 100 yards per game

JJ will pout on the sideline bc he is not in the game. He would become more of a cancer than a help.

And btw Crowton is not a good excuse either.
