That's just a close range hard skin .22 entry hole

First shot in the ear with a 22 ended its life. Then after he pulled it on the bank, two more "insurance shots" in the spine. You couldn't even see the bullet hole. We wiped the blood and you couldn't even tell there was a hole.

that is a big ol doe...
or two little bitty daughters.
Either way it is great to see young ones getting involved in hunting.

it was a nice size doe, dont have any scales. Daughter on the left is 11 and the right is 14. I took the 11 yr old out that evening and saw a buck at 19:10, 10 yards in front of our stand but couldnt tell how big it was. Horns appeared to be wider than the ears and were pretty tall. We have a 6 pt or better rule on our lease so we didnt pull the trigger on it. I was bummed that she didnt get her first deer, but she was fine with it. Taught her a good lesson about knowing what your shooting at. She is more than ready to head back out there Thurs. morning. We homeschool also, so I see a lot of field trips coming up in Nov.

I don't mind it on children. On adults though...don't be a baby.

What's the harm?

Some parents just don't want to show their children so I understand that.

youngest daughter didnt get to shoot her first deer yesterday evening, but she did get to shoot. She busted this sow with a head shot and the followed up with a smaller one. Two shots, two kills, with the single shot .243 She killed 2 of the 4 that came out but she had to pass me the gun to take out #3 that came back out behind us. 3 for 4 aint bad.
