Who else gets an invite from the West side? I can't see the SEC sitting back and allowing a PAC 16 to take place and not go to 16 themselves.

Probably looking east after those two. Not many more big TV markets to legitimately go after out west. Probably looking to expand up to NC/VA/DC IMO.

There is nothing magical about 16. Expansion was about the SEC network and cable TV stations. We are done for a while.

TCU and West Virginia or South Florida would be my choices.

Why couldn't the SEC stay at 14?

this.
no reason to move to 16 unless someone really big looks to defect from their current conference.

I think the SEC stays at 14. We're already deluding our on-field product enough.

16 would mean possibly 2 more bowl games and more money for conference.

I would like to see the SEC make a run at UVA and Va Tech. UVA is an underachieving program and if they get the right guy in their recruiting the hotbed areas of Virginia they could be decent. They may be tied together too, with all of the politicking the governor did to get Va Tech in the ACC.

bowl games provide only a small portion of revenue. the bigger money is in tv deals, and 16 means we divide up the pie further.

this stuff isnt rocket science everyone. its economics.

I read somewhere today that Slive may be secretly trying to get ND to join, but I don't see that happening at all.
