First time on this board, hopefully this is not a question yall get everyday.

I use to play a game called "The Blue & The Gray" and Sid Meier's "Gettysburg"- actually their the only computer games I have ever been interested in. They do not work on newer computers (hasnt for several years) and I talked to a computer guy and he said, all in all, there wasnt too much hope for it ever working. I have done the downloads from EA? but they did not help. I even asked if I found an old computer with the older software if would that work - he looked at me like i was an idiot and said no.

ANYWAYS - is there any game similiar to that game out there, or has there been an updated version of Gettysburg or Civil War remade?

I tried to get Sid Meier's Gettysburg to run on my old windows xp machine. Never got it to work, but I believe it is possible with win 95 emulation and a lot of time.

There is a relatively new game called Scourge of War: Gettysburg that is supposed to be similar to the Sid Meier's game.

Is buying a game like this via the internet the same as buying one via a disc? Same quality etc.?

It is just like buying a CD, but more convenient. I prefer Gamersgate to Steam because you don't have to run a 3rd party app in the background while you play the game.
