SIAP but how does FAIR scheduling work with 13 teams??? SEC West is already much harder. Do you have 7 teams in the division???

It's been shown on here many times that it can be done. Now many won't like it possibly but it's far from some brain surgury type of situation
I've seen some where A&M plays 4 east/4 west as sort of a OOC replacement but it counts toward conference etc....
It'll be somewhat convaluted IMO but it will be workable

It's funny because SEC just changed BB seeding this year because the East is much stronger than the West, but in FB the West is much stronger than the East.
It would really become an issue if either LSU or Bama's only loss is to the other. One of them won't make the SECC game and would have a weaker chance to make the MNC game because they didn't play in the SECC game, but a 3 or 4 loss team from the East would still play in the SECC.
I know things go in cycles, but right now there really is no comparison between East and West. Interesting if this will be discussed because of expansion. Especially considering the West could have 7 members while the East remains at 6.
Is it obvious I'm bored on a Sunday morning...

Define fair. The only completely fair conf scheduling is when you play everyone in a conference. With so many teams it just isn't practical, so compromises have to be made. With 13 teams, if everyone in the conf is going to play the same number of conf games, you have to do something nontraditional.
The MAC has 13 teams with 7 and 6 team div. Each team plays 8 conf games. The 6 team div plays everyone in their div + 3 x-conf games. That is 6*3=18 x conf games. In the 7 team div, 3 teams play everyone in the div + 2 x conf games. The remaining 4 teams play only 5 div games + 3 x conf games.
Is it ideal? No. But it is doable.
