This. Something more like $10, or $20 for trailers or certain premium spots would have been met with less fuss. Plus, no opportunity to get a season pass (which could have been discounted) and not really having a decent plan for disbursing said passes. And no one has answered how they are going to account for the minimum wage pass sellers not pocketing the coin.
We just kicked in and helped pay for the leader of our crew to park and bring all our crap, we will continue to park for free. The money grab sickens me. Heaven forbid we ever return to the dark days, but for those of us going out when they were begging us to, screwing us now that they are selling a "hot" product doesn't sit well.

Just walked the campus and seems about normal right now. Slightly smaller volume of cars in the lots on the north side, but it's still early. The system for receiving a pass was fairly simple but will still cause a cluster in a couple of hours.

Got here at 745. No line but it will be a cluster later. Pay area is empty compared to previous openers. Ag lot a thrid of the way full.

How's parking around parade grounds this early?

It's not a lot, per se, but anywhere on the interior of campus. I don't see any problem with it.
$250 for the season to park within a short walk to the stadium is not a bad deal. Especially since someone else has to clean up the massive amounts of crap that is left behind.

Which explains the fee.

my sentiment exactly...people have proven that they cant' clean up after themselves...pay to have your shite cleaned up or stay home...

Just parked in my normal spot which is now paid parking. The lot is usually half full really 3/4 full if you want to count spots people save for others, but as of now only one trailer overnight, me and one other car. You can tell by the 4 stops at the pay area this won't work very well later. First a cop stops you asks "you got your $40? Then you go to the ticket lady. Next you're stopped by a second ticket lady. She makes sure you didn't get by the first ticket lady. Then to a guy who tears off your ticket stub. Then you can go through and park. The parking ticket is one of those generic tickets the print at the ticket office.

well, speaking with my internal control hat on....that's how you know the minimum wage workers won't rip you off....
they are going to have one more game to work this out before we get into the meat of the season...and with kentucky probably being an 1130 kickoff, there is not going to be a lot of practice.....
btw, i hope they used some of the money to get a few more dumpsters....maybe they should get torres and his boys in there to keep things under control...just a thought

i agree 100% with cleaning up your own mess, HOWEVER, it wouldn't hurt for LSU to pick up the tab once, or give something back to the fans.

I hear what you are saying, but they have been picking up the tab for years.
I can't even imagine the cost of set up and clean up so we can just show up and have a party. (a GREAT party

LSU has plenty money revenues to pay for clean up, for just 6 games.
I'd rather a "litter" cop go around and keep things straight. Tickets to the violators, and as usual, the do-gooders get included in the bunch and have to pay for the mess.

I bet the cost is in the mid to upper 6 figures range when you factor in salaries/wages supplies, fuel, etc.

Any word on Ag lot capacity remaining?

Think we are paying that much for prison labor?
Actually, the garbage issue has gotten really bad, but the fratsters that create almost 100% of the mess on the Parade Grounds hike over and are not affected. So the ones paying are not the ones that caused the problem.

I wasn't born yesterday. I've seen the mess the oldsters make too.
(although a bunch of 18-22 year old guys do make a mess.
