Is this not true.

No. The reports about a deal being reached were not true at all.

Oklahoma is the only school in the Big 12 who has agreed to sign the waiver. I think that should tell you something about OU's intentions.

So what does the SEC do?

I don't know. It seems like we're entering uncharted territory here. I think the presidents should risk the legal consequences and waive the clause that caused all of these problems in the first place. If everything everyone is saying is true, Baylor and the other schools have no legal standing anyway.

I'd go forward anyway.

They either need to get OU in the Pac10 or the SEC if the really want aggy that bad. I honestly believe the SEC doesn't want aggy that badly at this early date. Maybe when the conference has had time to find a 14th.

I'm sure aggy alums have enough money to override anything Baylor might do that would probably get a waiver from the SEC.

I honestly think the SEC wants Texas A&M badly, otherwise we wouldn't have voted them into the conference unanimously last night.

How did Nebraska Leave?

IMO, Texas (who has a lot of political clout within the Big 12) may have wanted Nebraska and Colorado to leave. I still think their motive is to restructure the conference to include mostly all-Texas teams with less out-of-state competition. Keep in mind, Texas has always played in a mostly all-Texas division or conference since they've been playing football.

This may be a calculated move by the SEC to make sure the PAC expands first.

If OU goes PAC before we get A&M I won't mind it as much.

I'd hate for the SEC to just add a few spares and then everybody else stand pat.

That's a great question. Why not this much fuss when either Nebraska or Colorado left. Why now are all these other schools wanting to start some bull when apparently none gave a rat's you know what when Nebraska or Colorado left.

I agree. It's their move now. I think Slive and others are aware of each and every scenario which perhaps could develop.

Seems like Baylor should be focused on begging Texas not to leave the "Big 12". As long as Texas stays, the "Big 12" will be an AQ, no matter who the other 11, 13 or 15 schools are. If Texas leaves, Baylor is a mid-Major.

Texas has no intention of leaving and never did. I truly believe this.

I agree. Why would they?

1. They have the power and freedom that they would have if they were independent, but without the scheduling hassles.

2. Don't have to contend with "uppity" schools in the Pac 10 or Big 10 who would cut into their lopsided financial deal.

3. They basically are an independent who controls their own personal conference with two automatic BCS bids.

If I were in charge of Texas, I would do everything I could to push OU to the Pac 10 to make the road to the BCS even smoother. Who could really blame them? If they can get away with it, why not?

I've been saying this for a while with regard to "what if" other conferences stand pat..

The most logical thing I have read all day. I am sure once Baylor realizes this they will back off. In a funny way TX needs Baylor just a little bit now as a conference cupcake.

The problem with this notion is Oklahoma. Everything is contingent on what Oklahoma is going to do. This is why Baylor is making a big fuss. Yes, as of right now, Texas wants to remain the Big 12 and likewise wants to see the conference survive.

However, if OU decides to depart for the Pac-12, the Big 12 will no longer be a viable conference. Texas will do either one of two things:

1. They will go independent

2. They will make some tweaks with their Longhorn Network and join OU in the Pac-12

Once that happens, Baylor will more than likely be screwed because Texas will only take one school with them out west and it won't be Baylor.

Baylor needs to realize they just aren't one of the big boys. They need to suck it up and go join the MWC or the WAC.. What is the harm in it? Why not go somewhere and have some success? I don't see the attraction of wanting to remain a doormat.
