Wonder if there is any truth to this?

There are a few reports with quotes from the Arky AD saying that the Big XII did tamper...

Hogs to the rescue. Aggie you can thank us by never bringing your yell leaders to a game ever again.

Can you sue over a conversation?
If Arkie isn't going anywhere, there is no issue.
This isn't the NFL. Tampering doesn't exist.

Like I give a frick....

"Tampering" may not, but intentional interference with a contract does. If not, why would SEC want assurances no legal action will be taken. It seems clear the Big 12 gave that assurance and stated it along " with it's members" would not take legal action. Obviously, they didn't check with their members (Baylor). Now, AR saying Big12 trying to induce them to leave SEC. That is intentionally interfering with a contract. A&M wants out and applied to SEC. AR did no such thing and was approached by Big12. It's a mess. Personally, I think the SEC is fine the way it is. 5 straight BCS titles confirm my thoughts. A&M, no offense, but no thanks. Too much drama and baggage. The SEC should table it and move on.

Do you even understand why Baylor is threatening litigation against the SEC?

For the record, your right. Its the same reason why the threat of Baylor suing the SEC is laughable.

I'm not sure it's "laughable" since it worked at stopping the party in College Station. I agree it likely won't stop an eventual move. But, it put the SEC on notice that there may be legal expenses and distractions that it clearly doesn't want. This is evidenced by the fact the SEC denied A&M's first public interest due to it had obligations in the Big 12. A&M thought is got the green light to leave and then at the final hour a wrench was thrown in it by Baylor. Baylor may be delaying the inevitable, but the SEC has no reason, nor is there an upside, engage in any legal actions.

Unfortunately, I agree with the above "wrench" post. A wrench has been thrown into the works. I can understand the sentiment from the SEC also, "we don't need this shite..."
It is obvious to the entire world now why we want out of this clusterfrick boondoggle of a conference now...and why we are looking towards the folks that seem to have their shite together and produce a good product.
I just wish someone would throw us a line or something and say, that's enough...we got your back. I am afraid that we don't have too many cards left to play...

Just another reason why Baylor's tortious interference suit has zero merit. A competent judge would grant summary judgment before it ever made it to a jury.
It's going to be hard to convince a judge that the SEC tried to coerce aTm to break its contract with the Big 12 (not Baylor) when the Big 12 was going around trying to convince Arkansas, Pitt, Air Force, and others to break their own contracts. It's called course of dealing and unclean hands.
This talk of lawsuits by Baylor is nothing but a stalling tactic to give the politicians time to get involved (which they won't).

Yes, but would the Big 12 fair as well in court for it's tortious interference with AR?

Welcome to the AGGIES also. I hope it does happen with all the bull that is going on. And most of all , I cheer your spunk for wanting to come to the toughest conference in football. At least you guys have the gonads to want to come over unlike many other of your brethren who are flat out scared of the rigors of the SEC.
