Texas/OU

I don't know why (and probably no one other than the presidents of the two schools knows), but doesn't it make sense for Texas/OU to work out something (read: split most all of the Big 12/LHN money themselves) to keep the Big 12 together? No other school has any of the same type of leverage that they do to prevent this sort of arrangement. It keeps everything in tact across college football and they don't have to worry about difficult conference matchups and/or a conference championship game. it's an easy path to a BCS bowl - the winner of the RRR gets the berth...the other probably likely an at large. is this too easy a solution...haha

and their AQ status should be revoked....

If the Big East has kept their bid over the past 3-4 years, the Big 12 would surely keep its bid as long as OU and Texas are in the conference.

quote:a 5-7 UT? really? thats the problem with building around only 2 programs, if one struggles, the conference is a shell of itself.

OSU and Mizzou are good second tier programs....Alabama draws plenty of viewers because of their history, even if they are down...so UT is still very attrative TV wise, even though they had a bad year. And in a watered down league with no championship game, odds are they won't have too many of those type of years.
