This thread makes no sense to me. One should not equate being a fan of a sports team with being a fan of a college degree or university.

Are you a fan of any professional teams of any sport? Did you ever a member of *that* team?

I understand that as a Graduate of the school, one should have "special attachment to that university" - but, it should be for the memories of knowledge learning, poon hunting, and good times experienced -- it shouldn't be because "they have a football team".

I grew up an LSU fan before I even attended 1st Grade. I ended up attending 3 different Louisiana universities and one out of state university for different reasons. Why should I give up my lifelong passion for rooting for LSU Football team just because my educational opportunities were elsewhere?

Simply does not make sense to me.
