Preparing for a power outage and/or loss of satellite signal before or during the game tomorrow, so we'll have the generator, laptop, and HDMI cable on hand. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a reliable video stream via internet. I don't give a shite how much it will cost. Hollerrrr.

Uhhhhhhhhhh...how about a generator?

Uhhh, wouldn't help if the ISP isn't sending a signal... Been there done that, We have our generator on stand-by but it's so we can listen on the radio.

Your better bet is to just have an antenna standing by to pick up the over the air digital signal.

Crap! Seriously? I figured if I plugged the modem into the generator, the signal would work...assuming the ISP stayed online with a generator as well. So the latter scenario is the only way that will work then?
Thanks for the input...never thought of that.

Logistical problems aside, is there a dependable website that runs a live video stream of the game?

Jesus people, this isn't hard. Go buy an antenna for $9 at Radio Shack tomorrow and watch the game over the air in HD.

What kind of antenna? A $20 version from radio shack or a big old school bastard extending from the roof? Any suggestions on a reliable antenna would be appreciated as well. Thanks again for the input, bitches.

A regular $9 antenna (don't fall for that HD crap) will pick up HD signals over the air. You'll want to get it near or outside a window though.

This would be fine. A pair of rabbit ears is all that you need if your TV has a built in digital tuner.

I'd assume someone on justin.tv will be broadcasting it, but like it's been said, antenna from radio shack is your best bet.

Seriously, it may not be hard for you, but I'm not hip to television accessories...so I wanted to get input from superior brains such as yourself.

If you've got a newer LCD tv, you can plug in the antenna, and do an "auto search" for channels. You should pick up ABC this way.
To do this on your TV remote, click "Menu", "Setup", "Channels", "Auto Search" (or something like that).

Well, I know the Direct TV signal will go out, so I'll have an antenna. I'm still going to equip the party with the goods to feed a live stream. I checked out justin.tv, and I'm assuming the option to plug into the game will pop up sometime around kickoff?
Even then, is the feed choppy because of user-overload?

It's funny that these days people are more familiar with using computers and phones than a regular old TV antenna. It's also interesting that so many are jumping to "where can I watch online", which is typically a much lower quality picture than an antenna would offer.
