Nothing more I love than seeing a delayed safety blitz or cornerback blitz and getting a big hit on the QB.
With Oregon's offense and as wide open as it is do you think we will keep our secondary back for the most part or do you think we might see Chavis send em?
I think if we could hit the QB one good time he might be a little hesitant to send one of his passes to the middle and leave his receivers out to dry.
I know there are lots of LSU/Oregon threads but I didn't see one to put this in. Sorry if I missed one but I'm sure if I did the great people here on the Rant will quickly point out my mistake.

What I'm curious about is who will blitz more? Oregon or LSU. And can Lee take a hit? Will he put it up for grabs over the middle?

Well you know Mathieu and Baker are gonna get after him a few times. But with their speed and big play ability, we might blitz a little less than normal. Might also depend on how much penetration our DL is getting.

Not sure. Chavis sure seemed to want to play a lot of at home base type of defense against Auburn, which people will disagree on - our tackling was bad, so the idea may have have been ok if we had tackled better.

Against Oregon, it seems like Cal had success by blitzing the LBs. Auburn seemed to be more of a DL thing.

I'm thinking with our DBs and Oregons unproven WR, we'll probably see a good amount of blitzing, and I hope we do. I'm a big fan of forcing the action rather than reacting.
