Anyone know the rules as to what types of cameras you can bring in the stadium? I know some won't let you bring a DSLR or anything with a detachable lens.
I want to bring my DSLR, but I'm not going to waste my time with a point and shoot either.

I want to bring mine as well. The Ga dome had a policy for no DSLR camera's but I saw a shitload of people coming out of the dome with them last year. I just imagine Cowboy stadiums security will be tight. I am not sure I want to take the chance. I mean what if you get there and get shot down, where do you leave your camera? Especially if you take a cab or shuttle bus there?

wish I could help...
I am doing an event in the Cowboys Stadium on Sept 18th and it is up to us.
My guess is that it has to do with NCAA rules and NFL rules...there were a lot of pic on facebook for the CB last year.

The Cowboys have announced that professional cameras will be prohibited in the stadium. This is a rule that is common with professional team sporting events. However, it seems it is always up to the gate screener as to what constitutes a "professional camera". I have been denied entrance to such events with a Canon Mark IIN as well as a 30D that were in a case with a few extra lenses, just to return with the same cameras with a wider lens attached and just hanging from a neck shoulder strap, no case, and allowed to enter. I am thinking that it's more about the lens than the camera. The problem is that anything less than 200mm is only going to get you some candid fan shots. Has anyone experienced this situation?

From Cowboys Stadium website:
Cameras
Compact Cameras (still only) are permitted inside Cowboys Stadium as long as their use does not interfere with the event or other guests' enjoyment of the event. Video Cameras, tripods, monopods and cameras with a lens longer than 3" (detachable or non-detachable) are prohibited inside Cowboys Stadium.
