How badly will not having a fullback hurt us now?

Hopefully Hilliard can really fill that role because now that we can't stretch the field sideline to sideline, we'll need a fullback more than ever.

I don't think there was a guarantee of stretching the field laterally before.
ETA: It didn't really hurt much last year and we certainly weren't stretching the field.

Meant to say sideline to sideline regarding running plays. Sorry should have been more clear.

was thinking about the FB position earlier. we may be in more I-form/ 2 back looks now, so maybe we can use Hilliard (and Ware when he lines up at FB) more like Tenn used to use Shawn Bryson. really make that position more of a threat.

Yeah, what happened to stampley and copeland?

Fair enough.
I don't know that we'll see a step back, though. I think we have enough talent and speed to get to the outside with a serviceable FB. I think Copeland, Stampley, and Hilliard are capable of being serviceable.

he's been hurt much of fall camp, not sure if he's back yet.

Stampley is horrible. Copeland is always injured it seems. Just looking for something to consistently show us they can be something close to Quinn Johnson.

I think if it absolutely came down to it we could run an effective one back system. Ware is big enough to bulldoze his own way and fast enough to hit the corner. And Ford would be an effective back out of the gun. Same goes for Blue, Gore, and Magee.

What position is Dickson? I bet he'll play some FB

Tell you what Tiger Authority, you line up as a middle linebacker and fill the hole that JC Copeland will be carrying his 270 lb arse through at 4.7 speed to take your scrawny arse into the upper level seating at Cowboy stadium. Then, come back on here and tell us we don't have a fullback.

Tell you what Pineville, show me JC as a injury free player and I'll agree with you.

Is he hurt for the Oregon game?

Hilliard is young but I think he will do just fine

I hope not, but he's been out a lot this fall.

Dickson is a TE like his brother, but there are similarities between the two positions. I would think he could step in if needed. I also would think Clement could step in in a single TE set. (Peterson at TE)
