Do you think it is reasonable to expect that from now until this thing wraps up (weeks from now possible) nobody around BTR will say a word about it? Nobody is going to share what they heard? Nobody is going to spread lies and rumors?

No...it's reasonable and expected. What I'm suggesting is that we, as fans, at least ATTEMPT to not try and make it worse!!

Is anyone really going to disagree when I suggest that if it turns out that the rumors we have all heard turn out to be not the way thins thing plays out, it will have been a bad thing for those involved to have been all brushed with the same broad brush?

All im saying is that we need to take EVERYTHING we hear for what it is...talk and conjecture. having said that, some talk is more interesting to hear than others, and i personally found Nico's interesting.

And all I'm saying is that, with a tiny bit of self control, it's completely possible to stay informed about this situation and NOT become part of the story by becoming a vehicle of bad information transfer. As an LSU fan, that's in my best interest. Not to cover anything up, or to to hope that it does...but to stay out of it and let it play out without my involvement.

Im not trying to argue with you here because I dont think our viewpoints are too far apart. Just like you (and i think most LSU fans) dont want to spread rumors. I think the main difference is this so called "self control" that you speak of.

Even this so called "good info" is usually flawed. Go back and read most of the early media reports on the incident. Most contradict each other because they were reporting rumor. All that you hear about this incident (at this point) is second hand info since the players nor the victims are talking to the public for the most part. WWL, WBRZ, etc are reporting hearsay just like Nico.

The reason I am more likely to put up with, and be interested in hearing what he had/has to say is because for the most part his info does not involve the case, but the football team. (Yes he mentioned what the charges "would be", but thats not the part i was interested in.) I found the talk of a 2 game suspension interesting since it is very plausible imho.

Like i said i understand and appreciate where you are coming from, but i guess your a better man than me. I cant help but look for any news (even gossip) about this incident. If I thought there was a place to go where i could filter out all of the crap and only get real info i would go there...but i have not found that place yet so tigerdroppings will have to do.
