Let's not get too optimistic. You can have a broken jaw and drive. That sort of injury leads to a second degree battery charge in most bar fights. I have seen these plead down if the medical bills are paid by the attacker. Simple battery for first time offenders usually get a fine or get into a pretrial diversion program.

The felony charge is very serious and could result in expulsion from school.
