Since there is alot of military talk about discipline, what happens to a leader who willingly violates rules and allows/encourages those underneath him do it as well?

No. Game day coaching is different.
This situation validates the possibility of a players coach getting taking advantage of for being a nice guy.
Very ironic that being a decent human being would put him in this situation. Actually a sad commentary of today's society.
