T.Boone Pickens sees the writing on the wall.

It's amazing how ESPN has become the Mouth of The Big 12.

He doesn't want to have to write another check for $165 million to help keep up the athletic department in a weak conference. Unlike other schools like Nebraska, A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado, OK State has no better options. The SEC, Big Ten, and Pac 12 will not return calls.

"I don't want the Big 12 to break up. I don't want to go to the Pac-10," Pickens said. "If you go to the Pac 10, you're going to end up in the Eastern Division. I think the Pac-10, I don't know whether the Eastern Division would ever break in against the Western. But if you beat the Western, then that's the way you break in.

"And so, we can play against the West Coast. That doesn't bother me. It's just a long way out there."

This quote is all over the place IMO. Can someone translate this?

Agreed. The man is rattled about the thought of his hundreds of millions of $ hosting a Mountain West game.

That reminded me of Ricky Jackson's HOF speech. They need to not let that old bastard talk anymore. i guess if you donate enough money they just let you do and say whatever the hell you want.

Sounds like he is drinking some of the same Kool-Aid the Les Miles has been sipping.

I really hope you're kidding with this comment. They practically make love to the SEC on air.

No doubt they do- so does every other network. What makes ESPN special is that they did everything possible to keep aTm from leaving this past weekend. If you want to contrast that, try looking at Yahoo Sports, or any other network not broadcasting games- and you'll find what's really going on here. You'd be mistaken to think that Deloss Dodds isn't the one directing traffic here. Between ESPN and the Big 12 commish, he seems to have quite the array of strings.

He wants aTm to stay put because that's what's best for HIS school. He could really give a rats arse what's better for aTm. The Aggies should flip em all the finger and say adios. If they're all too frickin scared to tell Texas to shove it, that's their problem. aTm is doing what's best for them.
