frick ESPN.
quote:
Lynch said that President E. Gordon Gee received a letter from the NCAA on Aug.?3, but it concerned only procedural matters about the appearance of OSU officials before the Committee on Infractions on Friday.
The letter did not make any references to an ongoing investigation of the football program, Lynch said. He added that Ohio State cannot immediately release the letter because it must first undergo legal review.
frick ESPN.

I'm sorry that I don't give a shite about anything that pertains to OSU.

What point are you trying to make?

They could be being truthful they could also be playing word games.
None of that says investigation. They could still be under investigation and nit anticipate another NOA.
On the other hand it's ESPN and being in journalism today in means having to run with things prematurely sometimes.
quote:
The university has received no indications from the NCAA that it will face additional allegations or findings, Lynch said.

Yesterday when this shite hit the fan, the thread went 5 pages or so, people hell bent that OSU was getting nailed.
Now when OSU says that ESPN is full of shite, nobody is around.
Strange how that works.

The letter ESPN references talks about the hearing tomorrow, and says NOTHING about any ongoing investigation.

Oh....so we're just supposed to believe OSU?
An organization that will not release a letter that it received 8 days ago from the NCAA, but has yet to have their lawyers look it over.
What? Really?
You would think that such a letter would be addressed to your attorneys, as well as your AD, Pres., etc., no?

I would think it will eventually be released. So you think OSU is just concocting all of it and lying when it will get released? Yea, that makes perfect fricking sense.

It was only refuted by the University in question. The NCAA has verified ESPN's allegations.

Please explain to me why OSU would lie about something that will become public. Please let me know, I'm dying to find out.

We don't know which letter ESPN is referencing. U know OSU said that's all.
What about this quote from the ESPN article
quote:
When Ohio State spokesman Jim Lynch was questioned last week specifically about Talbott by ESPN's Tom Farrey, his response indicated that the investigation of the football program is ongoing.
"... We will not be able to discuss details of our active investigation with the NCAA until the matter has been resolved," Lynch wrote in an email to Farrey.
Could be more word games, this time on ESPNs part, might not.
Point is OSU learned that when there is blood in the water the media attack so it is to their benefit to deny any more investigations.
Wouldnt shock me if OSU is being 100% truthful nor would it shock me if ESPN is right
