WWL, your flagship station of the Saints Radio Network, is excited to announce that you can now listen to Saints games LIVE on your computer at WWL.com! That's right...you'll be able to hear every exciting play-by-play from Jim Henderson and Hokie Gajan, as well as all of our pre-game and post-game coverage, at WWL.com. We talked with our web/digital gurus Jay Vise and Scott Colomb about what this means, how it works, and if there are any limitations: Q: Is there any charge to listen to Saints games on WWL.com? A: No, no charge at all. You do have to first sign up for the WWL Big Talkers Club, where you can opt-in to our newsletters, news alerts, special deals, etc. Signing up is completely free, and we do NOT share your email address with anyone. You only need to sign up once, and the sign-up is free. You can go ahead and sign up before game day by CLICKING HERE. However, although we do not charge for our live stream on game day (or any other day,) you should note that running a live audio stream on your computer does count as data usage on your internet plan. You may want to check with your internet service provider if you think streaming several hours a week could make an impact on your data usage limitations with your particular internet provider. Q: Can I listen to the games at WWL.com if I'm out of state or out of country? A: Yes, absolutely. In fact, that's one of the main reasons we wanted to stream the games on WWL.com. There are no restrictions on where you can listen to the game online. And, we're particularly happy that this will make the "home-town call" of Saints games available for free to thousands of Who Dats in the military, deployed around the country and around the globe. Q: Can I get the game on my mobile phone / smartphone / WWL iPhone App? A: No - You'll only be able to hear the Saints game stream on WWL.com on a desktop or laptop computer. This is an important point: Unfortunately, we only have the right to carry the games on our regular WWL.com stream for desktops and laptop computers. Another company already holds the rights to stream audio of NFL games to apps and smartphones. That means we will not be able to offer the Saints game via the WWL.com stream on any mobile phone, on the iPhone app, or on any other type of mobile device. Q: Will the audio be in synch with the TV? A: No. When we send our Saints broadcast from Jim & Hokie to computer servers that redistribute the audio to thousands of WWL.com listeners, it requires massive "buffering" of the audio to ensure that everyone can hear the game. That process does result in a significant delay between what you see on TV and what you hear on WWL.com.

you wont be able to sync the audio stream with the TV. It even says that there is a significant delay in the streat due to the buffering when the signal is distributed through the servers.

There's usually a significant delay in the HD broadcast of the games also. As long as the TV broadcast is a little ahead of WWL's radio broadcast (and assuming you have DVR) you can pause the TV broadcast to match the radio broadcast.

That's great! The bad news is you wont be able to listen to the games on their iPhone app. Pi don't know why but it's posted as soon as you open the app.
