i hate the triple option; it is the most boring friggin' offense ever invented. wish it would be outlawed. by the way, your definition of old school is different than mine.

Say what you want about the triple option. In its heyday it was a very effective offense. However, like any other offense, it was as good as the team executing it. Tell Bear Bryant what a piece of crap it was. If he were alive he would take his pecker out and use it as a nightstick on you. Perhaps the offense was not that exciting to some, but it worked until the defenses got faster.

That having been said, like some others, it was nice to see some of the old crew playing.

You haven't seen the last of it, sooner or later it will make a return. Everything goes in cycles in sports. Somewhere someone will use it and it will be effective. Then the copycats will come out, just like they always do.

I still see it come up here and there but usually among the smaller colleges. However, yeah, I would agree that it will eventually make a return. The most interesting offense I have ever watched was when Western Kentucky used to run the double wing in the late 1980's. I am sitting above the field and at times had hell figuring out who had the ball. I can only imagine the confusion the NLU defense had at times. That is one of those that you "stay home" and play.
