First off, congratulations on getting Danielle Hunter. He has the potential to be a solid DE and should do well. Jalen Mills should also make an excellent boundary corner.

You guys are now at 4 DEs according to Rivals and 18 overall recruits. Do you think you will be recruiting any more DEs and if so who? What are your opinions of McFarland and Lathan?

probably following Chucky Hunter to TCU. Both are very solid, we just filling up very fast and have higher ppl, and needs to be filled.

We have one DE commited as of now.. Jerald Hawkins is an OT, and Torshiro Davis and Ronnie Feist are LBers.

As far as McFarland goes, he went to camp and the staff didnt deem him worthy of an offer just yet. Then Danielle Hunter comes in for a day and shows out and now hes a Tiger. Lathan saw the writing on the wall and decided to camp at Ole Miss instead.

I think we take one more DE, and with big senior seasons either McFarland or Lathan could be that guy. I think it will be McFarland, but with Lathan injured most of last year he could come out in beast mode and it could be him

I was watching Lathan's film again and he is very fast off the line and has a knack for knocking down passes. However, the one thing he did seem to lack was a mean streak to his game. Do you think this was due to his injury and him not wanting to risk a second injury or is that just his demeanor?

Here, is a link to his highlights if by chance you have not seen them:

Thank you for the welcome.

I think LSU has a solid team and should make for some good games against TCU in 2013 and 2014. I am also sure you have heard the rumor about a possible annual game between the two schools (although unlikely).

Therefore, I will be around from time to time and to get your guys opinions on some recruits and such. Think we will see TCU continue to recruit Louisiana for a couple of players each year and suspect LSU will do the same in Texas. With the resurgence of TCU and apparently A&M, East Texas recruiting should get pretty competitive so should be fun to watch.

Honestly, with a big senior season, Lathan could get an LSU offer. The staff just isnt very impressed with McFarland. But people who have seen Lathan play say he is a stud

I've seen Lathan and McFarland alot...I'm much more impressed with McFarland, he plays til the whistle and is just better overall at this stage. Lathan has all the potential in the world, but for some reason hasn't put it all together. McFarland always seems to be in on most of the tackles and alot of times I forget we even have Lathan. Hopefully Lathan will explode this year.

If they don't end up at LSU, I'd love to see this.

They were very impressed with mcFarland according to both scout and BBI. he will have a chance this fall to earn an offer

I guess it's all in the eyes of the beholder. I would reverse that personally, I think Lathan is the better of the two. Either way, they will both be playing D1 ball somewhere.

anyone know what McFarland is weighing in at these days? His weight varies website to website and he's looking fairly large.

Another thing about those two guys is last year they had eachother on opposite sides with Chucky Hunter in the middle. Thats a monstrosity of a HS D-line. Lets wait and see how they do with a little more of the offensive blocking scheme pointed towards them

Welcome to our board. Please understand that all boards have their share of immature obnoxious posters. And sad to say, we have more than just a few. Please ignore any bad posters and continue to visit and post. The TCU-LSU series will be phenomenal.

Weird because I'm the exact opposite. I've seen every one of their games, just like you, and I was shocked to see the love McFarland has received so far. Lathan to me is Mingo meets Mutombo. Great speed rusher that knocks down every pass thrown his way. I think he sticks out to me so much more because I watched several games from the sidelines including Ouachita where he just batted every pass down. I think it would be great if all 3 ended up at TCU.

chucky hunter told me a few weeks ago that mcfarland was a better player right now because of his effort and technique, but he said that if lathan gets over his laziness he could be much much better. When we played west monroe, mcfarland had the best game out of all 3 d-lineman, but lathan knocked down like 2 passes. He is very very athletic
