2008 was better than either 2003 or 2007. Black, Herm, and Helms were all a year older (and better) than they were in 2007. Same with Hitt. The fact that Black and Hitt regressed horribly in 2009 has no impact on this 2008 season.

The only change was replacing Karnell Stewart with Joseph Barksdale.

++++++++++

I do not know the final numbers/statistics, but it is important to remember that opposing defenses pretty much ignored our passing game (almost daring Jarrett Lee to pass the ball). And our rushing game went up against 8 man fronts all year long. It was amazing how effective we were running the ball that year - and all the credit goes to that offensive line unit.

We have the potential to be great. Our offensive roster is loaded with experienced and extremely talented players. Anyone else fielding a team such as ours would be crushing defenses.

I'm a huge JJ supporter but isn't it realistic to expect a top 25 national offense given the talent on field? If we start playing 6-7 man fronts after we show an improved passing attack, then Ware and Ford will be primed to explode. We gon' truck over some people this year.

I want to see Mike Ford lower his pads and crush a safety.
