I skipped the North Texas game in '05 for my cousin's wedding. It was originally an open date, but Katrina messed that up. I would have felt bad skipping it since they asked me to be an usher, and we had all gone through so much BS because of the storm. Plus, it was North Texas. Not Bama, Auburn, UF, etc.
Also, I have an ex-roommate from LSU and another friend who are getting married on the day of the Tennessee game this fall. I remember the bride telling me she absolutely did not want to schedule the wedding "during a big LSU game," but she/they did anyway. I know weddings are hard to coordinate, but I don't get why a Louisianian would schedule it during an LSU game. I mean, you know a number of guests will either skip the wedding or be really REALLY distracted the whole time.

I was scheduled to play violin in a wedding in Mobile where the church's minister of music, an LSU grad, was also singing. During the ceremony, he turned to me and whispered the LSU baseball score. His wife was in the audience listening on the radio and giving him hand signals.
As for my wedding, I married a Bama fan in 1983 when LSU was in the Stovall years. LSU defeated Rice 24-10, but they went 4 and 7 that year. Funny thing, that same minister of music sang in my wedding that night. The wedding was over before the first quarter ended, so all got to leave to catch most of the game.
