I don't understand why people are putting blinders on and hoisting JJ to the sky like he's a hero Heisman candidate when he was #106 last year out of 119. Why isn't there this kind of support for Jarret? I don't get it.

It's simple, really. After 08, our fanbase was certain that we won solely due to Saban's former magic, and it was now gone. We had no hope of winning again, and Miles had to go. He was ruining whatever chance we had left. Thus, no love of Lee or anyone else.
Now, Miles has re-established the program, and we are a favorite again to win it all. Thus, our current QB will arise to stun the world.

Really, lotsa fanbases react this way, based on expectations. Look at the Saints- we have hope, thus the players we have are all good (no, GREAT). So then, people are then indignant that the Saints might seek to replace Pierre Thomas, who is fantastic... but whose actual numbers put him slightly below average for a starting RB.

Never has such mediocrity received such a loyal and devoted fan club. Or attention. Hope he lives up to the hype.
