LSU (Head Coach Les Miles)
• Ryan Baker (LB, 6-0, 227, Sr., Grand Ridge, Fla., Second on team with 87 total tackles with 11 for losses including team-high seven sacks)
• Jordan Jefferson (QB, 6-5, 224, Sr., St. Rose, La., Completed 119-of-209 passes for 1,411 yards and seven TDs and also rushed for 450 yards and 13 TDs)
• Russell Shepard (WR, 6-1, 188, Jr., Houston, Texas, Caught 33 passes for 249 yards and a TD and rushed for 226 yards and 2 TDs)
Good indication of who the leaders on the team will be this year.

Taylor has to be another defensive leader. I bet he cant wait to get back on the field and crack some skulls.

Yeah I was surprised that Baker was picked over Taylor as well..

Baker is a monster. There was just so much consistency with Taylor when he got his chance. Never missing tackles and always around the ball.

I thought I heard the other day that only 2 players were allowed this yr instead of 3 due to time constraints.

Pretty clear that Baker is taking Sheppard's leadership role on defense. To me seems like the leader on defense is usually a linebacker because they usually have to be the most vocal and are usually in charge of audibles and giving the plays.
