I was wondering if they'd see each other.

Was at the game today. LeMahieu looked kind bad. 3Ks, a ground out to second and left 6 runners on base. 4 in scoring position that I can eremember.
What was interesting was the face-off between Soto and Coleman was 4 pitches. It appeared he walked Soto to get to LeMahieu.
I was sitting on the third base side about 15 rows up from the dugout so I could not tell where the pitches were.
I was actually surprised when they pulled Coleman with 2 outs.

Same for Coleman. he is not ready. He needs a 3rd pitch and better command.

Coleman has been really good outside of 1-2 outings

I live in KC and watch all of the royals games. You can't just look at era. He has been walking more people - 2 today. and one was to load the bases to get to LeMahieu.
He has also gone deep in counts. You really just have to watch all of his games to understand what I am talking about.
The Royals radio was talking about him lately. He may go down to minors. They really didn't want to bring him up and as you may recall he did not start with the team. He was to be the second rookie to be called up, but injuries pushed the issue. They are getting Davies and going into the national League parks this week for the road trip and will need more position players and a pitcher may go down.

All really?
I have had the fortune to watch every game this year and attended some like today's. It doesn't matter if you believe me or not, I am here and keep up with them unfortunately.
I am a Yankee and Cub fan FWIW.

Okay, but you don't think he was told to pitch around the guy to get to him?

While I agree, his performance has been pretty solid since he came up - he got shelled that one time, but it happens. He's facing big league hitters and getting outs - over 1 K per inning pitched.

there were runners on the corners with 2 outs. he walked the guy in 4 pitches. so you have a force out at every base and a rookie with little mlb experience coming up. yeah, that wasn't a strategic move.

It was soto and yes he was the 8 hole hitter - who can't hit a breaking pitch, but believe what you want considering LeMahieu had 2 hits yesterday.
Soto did have a HR early in the game.
Did you even read the post about what the Royals are doing? They had Chen down with injury and others. Davies for 1
Davies will be called up on July 1. they need additional position players for their next nine games because they are on the road at national league parks.
They originally wanted Coleman to be in the minors for part of this year b/c they want him to get in more work. That is part of the problem, e is not their first choice for a righty out of the pen or their long reliever. They would rather have him pitch and continue to develop a third pitch and better command of his fb.
Also, if you watched the Soto AB, he was all over the place - not that it matters.
The Royals are so sorry in the pen that Coleman will likely stay up for no other reason. i just hope it doesn't hurt him mentally long term when hitters fuigure out that side to 3/4 delivery on the curve that starts in and breaks out of the zone.
I would love to see him develop a splitter and get better command on his fb.
