Why is he more likely to kill himself or his neighbor with an AR than a shotgun or .22? That comment is like the anti "assault" rifle crowd. The AR is deadly because it's an assault rifle, not because of the dumbass controlling it huh? If a guy is dumb enough to kill somebody with an AR on accident then he can damn sure do it with any other weapon, the AR doesn't make the guy any more dumb

virtually any gun can/will kill you if it's pointed at you and someone pulls the trigger. that isn't the issue here. do you honestly think an AR is a good platform for someone with no experience to learn with?

First off the guy does have a tad bit of experience, but let's just say he didn't. I have no problem with him getting an AR as his first gun. You act like it's some special gun and if it's not handled right it will set off a nuclear explosion. It's just a damn semi automatic rifle dude that's decked out with cool shite. Now since an AR is nothing but a semi auto rifle, why is it any more dangerous to handle than say a remington model 742 semi auto 30-06, or is it? Why is it any different than a ruger10/22 that is a semi auto rifle, or is it?

The point is any dumbass can grab any gun and screw up and kill somebody. The chances of that happening with an AR aren't any higher than they would be with any other semi auto rifle. Again the AR isn't some special gun that does all kind of other cool shite like firing rockets, it's a damn semi automatic rifle that looks cool, nothing more nothing less when it comes to it being more dangerous for a beginner..

We do it with thousands of soldiers & marines every year. It's a very easy rifle to shoot.

Lighten up.
