I don't think teams should dogpile after super regionals.

Just my opinion though.

Probably just relieved to have been gifted the series

They haven't won anything yet. They are 1 of 8 teams remaining. When they're the only one left; let them dog pile

A dogpile is a little different than cutting down the nets, jackass.

There's a chance someone could get hurt at the bottom of that which could potentially frick your chances in the CWS.

I'm pretty neutral on dogpiles in the supers. On the one hand I see your argument which makes sense with the added fact that for a lot of the team it's the final home game of the year.

On the other hand, if one or more of your starters gets hurt in one you are gonna be pissed (as is the coach).

i can see teams like DBU doing the dogpile. This is Texas's 34th appearance in the CWS. no need.

it's a celebration of a great accomplishment.

A lot of teams actually practice a dogpile with their closer on the mound. There's actually an art to it... Catcher protects the pitcher in a fetal position , infielfders protect catcher n pitcher and everyone else on top. It's dangerous but one of the reasons why I love college baseball

Half the team has never been to a cws. Right to dogpile IMO

This is SC's 10th. We dogpiled last year when we got to Omaha. Won the title. And dogpiled this year by getting back to Omaha. It's like getting to the Final 4 in basketball and sure it has its dangers but when fans rush the court in basketball do all the home players fly off the court before the fans get there or do they risk it and celebrate?

To my knowledge Texas fans have never rushed the court in basketball (though we do not have a great history in the sport). I guess it is just the culture of the school.

they had a perfectly executed dogpile. Textbook. They've practiced to make sure no one got hurt.

My point is... I thought it was a classless act to say "act like we've been there"

eta: I could see if they were winning game 2 by 10 runs or something... But game 3, bot 9, tying run at the plate... C'mon

Indeed. Didn't you see that text book tackle by our catcher?

No dog-pile until you win the CWS. As Bum Philips once said, "Act like you've been there before."

And in Texas' case, the horns have been to Omaha 33 times in the past...we've been there before.

As an athlete, I've always hated that saying. Is it fair to those kids who want to celebrate and didn't get to, if teams before them got to? Like I said, I thought it was classless to big league like that. Esp being game 3 with the tying run up to bat.
