MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with event sources that the convention center is the likely venue, which is now expected to host "UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou" on Sept. 17.
The night's main card, including Alan Belcher vs. Jason MacDonald, airs on Spike TV. The UFC hasn't held an event in Louisiana since UFC 37 in May 2002. That event took place in Bossier City. The UFC's most recent event in New Orleans was UFC 27, which took place at Lakefront Arena in September 2000.
UFC officials previously announced the host city for UFC Fight Night 25 but not the actual venue. The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center's conference auditorium seats more than 4,000 fans, though it's not clear exactly where the UFC show would take place and with what seating configuration.
UFC Fight Night 25 is part of a major sponsorship deal between the UFC and Bud Light, which is the presenting sponsor of the event. (Bud Light will sponsor one such event each year as part of the deal.) It's resulted in an early promotional push for the show, which has drawn interest from many of the UFC's Southeast-native fighters, including Belcher, Tim Credeur and Melvin Guillard.

They are trying to get Charlie Rader and that guy that was talking shite about his son on the show to battle it out here also. Charlie just needs to get 2 wins between now and then

Wasn't that the guy who won TUF? The one talking about Rader's son? I don't see any way Rader gets that fight.....is he even in the UFC?

Idk if he won or not. I didnt watch the show really. Charlie isn't in the UFC right now. But they told him that if he wins 2 fights between now and then he is in.
ETA: Charlie got hurt on TUF. He's a lot better than people think

He'd have to fight twice this summer, and that'd be kinda hard to do unless he already has a fight scheduled soon. I could see him maybe getting added to that LA card, but no way does he fight the guy who won TUF.

Stupid question but where can u get tickets and when? Guessing ticketmaster.

I'd like to see the fight also, but it's still not going to happen. No way Rader deserves a fight like that, even if he wins a couple over the summer in some smaller organization. Fergusen's next fight will be on a UFC ppv main event. Rader isn't old, he still has time to improve and get his career on track....time will tell.

i love the newest fight added, jonathon brookins vs eric koch.. i am kind of clueles on what the main event will be though?

TUF winners almost always get 2-3 "easy" opponents to start them off

It will still be on a televised, ppv card.
I seriously doubt Silva, White, and company want to jeopardize the validity of their show by possibly allowing the season's champion to get beat by a guy who didn't come close on the show and simply gave up in his fight. I guess I could be wrong, but bad blood aside I don't see any way Rader gets a fight like that anytime soon. He simply doesn't deserve it (even with a couple wins this summer) and that match makes zero sense imo.

theres a risk any guy is gonna lose. They had Diego fighting Brian Gassaway on a PPV in his debut.

Right, but it kinda undermines the whole purpose of the show and its process if you have the season winner getting beat in his first UFC fight (other than TUFCF) by some guy who didn't come close to making it out of the house. Add that to the fact that most casual fans who watched this season probably think of Rader as a quitter, and that's just a dumb match-up for the UFC. There are plenty of guys who have "bad blood" in this sport....you can't just have everybody fight cause they don't like each other (what the link above is implying)

But most "casual fans" don't know that. They saw him tap before the RNC was even sunk in, and then got called out for it (basically called a quitter) by both Dana White and his own coach Brock

Where'd you hear the rumor that they're trying to book Rader v. Ferguson?
I wish these damn tickets would go on sale soon. I'm getting antsy. I'm stoked Belcher is finally getting back to action and I'll get to see him live but I'd love to see Barry, Guillard, Credeur or Porrier make their way onto this card.
I missed Dustin's fight Saturday, did he take much damage in the win?
KBeezy (or anyone else in the know), what's the turn around look like for Crazy Tim coming off a KO?
Hopefully Barry can get a good win over Kongo in a few weeks.

if he gets beat by Charlie Radar he would have never done anything in the UFC anyway

It sucks for mma fans in LA, cause it doesn't look like any of those guys will be on the card. It would be cool to see an "LA vs. the world" type of event, where you have guillard, barry, credeur, poirier, kbeezy, etc against guys from different continents.
