Yeah, there's a couple of different brands that sound like they're from LA but are really from China. Obviously that deceptive marketing worked on you (and my brother too, who recently bought some of these for me).

Also, most of them are 12-oz packages, not 16-oz, like most true Louisiana crawfish packs.

tetu, I'd never heard that about some of them being shipped from LA to China to be peeled. Even Boudreaux's/Bernard's taste different than pure LA crawfish to me though, like other Chinese crawfish.

I've been told that it's the lack of fat in the Chinese tails from the processing. Don't know how much of that is true or not though. Once I learned the truth about this crap I NEVER bought another bag of that shite again, and I've even let my grocer know my displeasure with those tails.

But what's he to do I suppose when the market demands the cheapest they can get their hands on no matter what? I mean, Tony's Seafood has both for sale. Everyone does.
