Tried Phil's Market-Hammond per advice from a poster on here

I must say it was rather tasty, but I wish they had more on the menu to choose from. I know they are just trying to open so I gave them a pass. I had the Roast beef poboy and my gf had the BBQ brisket on jalapeno bread, both were very flavorful. Though I do wish they had some kind of horseradish sauce or au jus just for a little extra flavor. But overall a good experience, I will have to order some meat from them because I am planning on cooking a prime rib at some point.
They also had a neighborhood market kinda thing they are trying to set up which could work out. Alot of premade meals (red beans and rice, crawfish etoufee, etc), sauces, and some dry rubs. If it were in a better location, maybe in downtown it would work better but the food and service was great so I hope they do very well.

Nice review, and Phil and Froggie need feedback like this. I know they will appreciate it. They are actually doing food as an afterthought. They really set up to just do meats and take home food and such so this is an ever evolving thing for them, but Phil can cook, no doubt about it.

I assume you are friends with them, if I could have that roast beef poboy with some kind of horseradish mayo or sauce then I would be in there 3-4 times a week lol. The meat had a lot of good flavor already tho, just a personal preference for me really. Nice people that were really helpful.

We just had it for dinner also. Very good place, can't wait to try the pre made meals and various meats.

They're some of the good guys for sure, and I guarantee you that they will appreciate your opinion as well. They're trying to get it cranked up there, and have started to get a real nice following, but it's a fledgling and they need support. One thing they aren't doing is short cutting, that I can assure you. Far too much love goes into their food for that.

Off of University in front of Atlas and The Buzz, pretty much across the street from Trey Yuen.
