Should Shep and Gore run the Oregon Scout offense this fall?

Obviously, Shep needs times with the 1s & 2s but when it is actually time to start gameplanning against Oregon, i can't think of anyone on the team more equipped to simulate DT and LMJ than Shep and Gore. Shep is close to DT's size and athletic ability, and Gore is close to LMJ size, except not as explosive of an athlete.

Plus, it might add a few extra practices in seeing Shep in the wildcat

It makes sense. Let Shep be the scout team QB since he can run like lightning and we presume he can pass. If anything it at least gets him and a few others a little extra time with the ball.

What about jerrand randall? He will be here and he can be a practice dummy this year.

I would assume it would be Randall and one of the freshman RBs.

same thing I was gonna ask

Let Shep play with the #1s where he belongs, Randall can be the scout QB

This probably makes the most sense for this year. This should be the only time he ever lines up at QB. He can transition to receiver and play there as a RS.

Shepard and Gore need their reps in our offense v. scout team's offense.

I think we are saying the same thing. I meant they need to run our offensive plays not the scout/opponent's offensive plays. I can see where your confusion comes from though. I could have worded it better.

Don't count Randall out as a qb just yet.

Arms and legs. True dual threat guy. I'd be shocked if he
moved to wr.

Id be very shocked as well. Has a Jamarcus russellesque arm as far as the deep ball. Really mobile (at least in high school), but seems to also have good throwing mechanics. Very trainable, I feel. I think he gives rivers a run for his money
